Zainul Azam BSc (Hons) MCSP, Grad Dip Ortho Med
Director of AAC Physiotherapy and lead Clinician. Qualified from the University of East London in 1999 and has since worked extensively in both the NHS and the Private sector treating all sporting, musculoskeletal and spinal injuries. He currently still works part time as a Highly Specialised MSK Physiotherapist in the NHS. Alongside a degree and post grad diploma in Pharmacology, Zainul achieved a post grad diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine. He is multi lingual in English, Gujerati, Hindi and Urdu. In his spare time, after 24 years of training, he teaches Martial Arts and continues to compete at National Level. An avid traveler, he has cycled from Land’s End to John O’ Groats, climbed up to Everest Base Camp and also trekked through the Amazon jungle!
Rebecca Scholes BSc (Hons) MCSP
A friendly and enthusiastic team member, Rebecca qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006 and travelled around Australia before beginning her career in the NHS. She quickly progressed to specialist in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with excellent experience in therapeutic techniques and manual therapy treatments. She enjoys new challenges and amongst other courses, she has gained further qualifications in acupuncture and orthopaedic medicine. Rebecca enjoys snowboarding and specialises in sports such as swimming and running. Rebecca is an avid supporter of Bolton Wanderers and has a season ticket at the Reebok where she can be found most weekends!
Joanne Brownlow BSc (Hons) MCSP
An ever smiling and cheerful physiotherapy team member, Joanne has broad experiences in both everyday life and clinical situations. Following an initial degree in human biology and health sciences, Joanne set her sights sky-high and worked as cabin crew for British Airways. But her desire and intrigue for anatomy and physiology lead her to gaining her fitness instructor qualification to fund her physiotherapy degree. Wishing to continually improve upon her knowledge and skills, Joanne has recently successfully completed a Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage. This has been put to good use in many of her treatments. In the little time she has off, she spends at the Bolton Wanderers Soccer school, utilising her excellent physiotherapy techniques, ensuring the ‘players of tomorrow’ are kept in tip-top shape. Pure dedication!
Rob Francis BSc (Hons) MCSP
After graduating with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy, Rob has worked in various NHS Trusts gaining knowledge and valuable experience. Still currently working in the NHS as a senior therapist, ensuring his clinical skills are up-to-date, Rob has a special interest in the area of orthopeadic rehabilitation. He has continued in his quest to give better treatment to his patients by undertaking an acupuncture course (AACP accredited) for the management of pain, modules in Orthopaedic Medicine have been completed and has been trained in Swedish massage. Aside from the academic and work related issues, Rob is a keen snowboarder and mountain biker. He also runs the Manchester 10km every year!
Amy Cowx MSc, BSc(Hons) MCSP
A passionate and enthusiastic therapist, Amy holds a Masters in Physiotherapy, a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation and a VTCT level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage. She has an excellent experienced background having worked with numerous sports teams and clubs including Bolton Wanderers FC, Warrington Wizards RLFC, Manchester City Ladies FC, Manchester United Academy FC, Manchester Magic Basketball Team, Manchester Amputee Football team, Manchester RUFC, GB track and field athletes and Ghanaian international footballers. As a former county level sprinter and competitive rower and a current runner, Amy is empathetic with her fellow sporting clients. She is able to draw upon personal experience in order to help others recover from injury as quickly as possible and look for ways to prevent recurrence of these injuries.
Lorraine Azam BSc (Hons) MCSP, MACPIN
Qualified from the University of East London in 1999 and has worked extensively in a range of NHS settings, her area of speciality is neurology. Lorraine has worked with a variety of clients including MS, Head Injuries, Spinal Injuries and Stroke. She is currently the lead specialist physiotherapist on a Stroke Unit. She sits on the National Executive Committee for ACPIN (Association of Physiotherapists in Neurology). She has helped run national conferences and a regional lecture programme and lectured undergraduates. As a physiotherapist who believes passionately in providing the best most up to date, evidence based therapy she regularly updates her practice. This includes national conferences, postgraduate courses including splinting and treatment specific courses. She is currently learning the new skill of looking after her first child!
